A scientist farmer’s interaction programme was conducted at the ICAR- Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram on 07.11.2025. The Nicobari tribal farmers from Nancowrie group of Islands were visited the institute and interacted with the scientist on various aspects of agriculture and allied sector. Further they have visited the experimental blocks of the Institute to obtain hands on experience. A total of 13 farmers were witnessed the programme. An input distribution program was organized on 07 November 2025 at ICAR-CIARI, RS Minicoyin connection with the observance of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas. As a part of the initiative for the infrastructure development of fishermen, fishing kits were distributed to fishermen from the villages of Rammedu, Sedivalu,Boduathiri and Aoumagu. The program aimed to strengthen the livelihood of the local fishing community by providing essential equipment to improve fishing activities and promote sustainable fisheries development in the region. The event witnessed active participation from local fishermen and village moopens, reflecting the collective effort towards enhancing traditional livelihoods.
