ICAR–CIARI has secured design registration for its open-sea seaweed cultivation unit. The unit features a low-cost structure designed for installation in open-sea conditions. The small sized plastic square units were found durable and required minimal maintenance. The unit was evaluated for experimental seaweed cultivation under open sea conditions.
