Mini Incubator To Alleviate Broodiness And To Improve Production Of Rural Poultry

About Institute
Mini Incubator

A community-based mini-incubator model has been developed to collect hatchable eggs from indigenous (desi) poultry and hatch them efficiently. The technology reduces broodiness in hens, shortens the incubation pause, and significantly increases the production of desi chicks, eggs, and meat, making it suitable for rural and remote island communities.

Benefit:• Increases desi chick production by 2–3 times. • Improves egg and meat production by reducing broodiness. • Enhances farmers' income through higher poultry productivity. • Promotes women empowerment and self-employment in rural areas. • Strengthens nutritional security through increased availability of eggs and poultry meat. • Suitable for small and marginal farmers in remote and island regions
