Celebration of Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) at ICAR-CIARI, Sri Vijaya Puram


 In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India, Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) was celebrated with great enthusiasm at ICAR–CIARI, Sri Vijaya Puram, along with its Regional Station at Minicoy and KVKs located in South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman, and Nicobar. The event began with a Pledge-Taking Ceremony that took place on 26th November 2025 at 11:00 AM in Dr. T.R. Dutta Hall, ICAR–CIARI. Staff from all categoriesincluding Scientific, Technical, Administrative, Supporting personnel, Research Scholars, and Contractual staff were participated in the ceremony, taking the pledge in both English and Hindi, thereby reaffirming their dedication to the principles enshrined in the Constitution.


 After the pledge, a film about Constitution Day was shown in the conference room to raise awareness regarding the creation of the Constitution and the vision. This was succeeded by an enlightening discussion on constitutional values, fundamental rights, fundamental duties, and democratic principles, emphasizing the importance of the Constitution in steering the nation’s development. As part of the festivities, staff members actively participated in reading the Preamble and quiz program online. Certificates were awarded to participants of the quiz and related activities.


 During this time, school students visited the Institute as part of an outreach initiative. They interacted with the staff and presented brief talks on constitutional values, adding depth to the celebration with their insights and enthusiasm.
