Namunaghar, 26 May 2026: ICAR–KVK South Andaman organised an awareness programme on “Balanced Use of Fertilisers” at Namunaghar with active participation of 25 farmers and farm women.
Mr. Mohit, SMS (Plant Pathology), delivered a lecture on the importance of balanced fertilizer use for improving soil health and sustainable crop production. Dr. Pooja Kapoor, SMS (Home Science) delivered a lecture on value addition of coconut, mango, jackfruit, and other underutilised agricultural produce, while Dr. Zachariah George, SMS (Animal Science), also delivered lectures on benefits of livestock in agriculture and daily life.
During the interactive session, farmers discussed their field problems and the KVK scientists provided suitable scientific solutions and recommendations. The programme concluded with an appeal to adopt balanced nutrient management practices for sustainable agriculture.
